One Health is a holistic, integrative approach that seeks to balance and optimize the health of humans, animals, and ecosystems, acknowledging the deep interconnections among them.
This approach offers a powerful lens to tackle today’s overlapping social, environmental, and health crises.
The “quadripartite” definition
Since 2021, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) welcomed the newly formed operational definition of One Health from their advisory panel, the One Health High Level Expert Panel (OHHLEP).
A unique venue to talk about One-Health
Since the 2021 The International One-Health Conference is gathering the prominent experts from institutions, academia, international organizations in health and environmental sectors to bring One-Health topics at the center of the scientific discussion.
In the last edition in Rome in 2025, the conference has received more than 120 scientific contributions , involving at least 400 authors from all over the world.
The highest level speakers (from WHO, The Lancet Countdown, ISGlobal, ICLEI) on the topic have been invited as guest lecturers to provide the forefront insights, innovations and relevant themes into the discussion.Testimonials
