The TWIN EVENTS program for the International One-Health Conference aims to extend the impact and reach of the main conference by organizing satellite events along the road to the conference, scheduled for October/November . These satellite events will serve as forums for stakeholders to engage with critical issues related to climate change, maternal and child health, and the principles of One Health in diverse geographical contexts leading up to the main event.
Through the TWIN EVENTS program, local communities, policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to participate in discussions, workshops, and capacity-building sessions tailored to their specific needs and priorities. These events will foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and action-oriented dialogue, ultimately contributing to the development of innovative solutions and strategies to address complex health challenges.
The satellite events will cover a range of topics relevant to the Mediterranean region and beyond, including climate adaptation, healthcare access, community resilience, and interdisciplinary approaches to health.
By leveraging the momentum generated by these events, the 3rd International One-Health Conference aims to catalyze collective action towards building healthier, more resilient communities in the face of global environmental change.
Participants in the TWIN EVENTS program will have the opportunity to connect with experts, exchange best practices, and contribute to shaping the agenda for the main conference. By fostering inclusive participation and collaboration, the program seeks to amplify the impact of the conference and advance the shared goal of promoting the health and well-being of people, animals, and ecosystems worldwide.

This side event responds to these challenges by creating a dialogue platform among researchers, policymakers, youth leaders, and civil society to co-develop strategies for prevention, preparedness, and cooperation under a holistic One Health lens.

The Twin Event, organized by ISBEM and SIMA , in collaboration with COmitato PEr Mesagne per la Ricerca and ASL Brindisi will be held on September 28, 2024, at the Monastero del Terzo Millennio in Mesagne (Brindisi). The event focuses on One Health and the Mediterranean, viewed through the lens of new generations and the Digital Era. Connected with the ASL Brindisi Summer School in Statistics (September 26-27), it will feature discussions on antibiotic resistance, COVID-19, environmental health, and epigenetics, among other topics. The day will conclude with a call for action in science, education, and social fields, alongside the launch of the OHC 3rd edition in Athens.
