By plane – Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport

Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport is the closest international airport to Sousse, located approximately 20 km south of the city center. It serves as one of Tunisia’s principal gateways for international travelers, particularly those visiting the coastal Sahel region. The airport handles numerous scheduled and charter flights connecting Tunisia with major European, Middle Eastern, and North African destinations.

Travelers can easily reach Sousse by taxi, private transfer, shuttle services, or train connections, with journey times typically ranging from 20 to 30 minutes.

By plane – Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport

Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport is located approximately 40 km north of Sousse and is one of Tunisia’s largest and most modern airports. Opened in 2009, it was designed to accommodate significant international passenger traffic and serves numerous airlines operating routes between Tunisia and Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.

The airport features a modern terminal with extensive passenger services, including retail outlets, dining facilities, banking services, car rentals, and transportation links. From Enfidha Airport, visitors can reach Sousse by taxi, private transfer, rental car, or shuttle services in approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Sousse Railway Station

Sousse is well connected to Tunisia’s national railway network through the Sousse Railway Station, one of the principal transport hubs of the country’s Sahel region. Operated by Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens (SNCFT), the station provides regular services linking Sousse with major Tunisian cities, including Tunis, Monastir, Mahdia, Sfax, and Gabès.

Frequent trains connect Sousse to Tunis, the capital city, in approximately 2 hours, while shorter journeys provide convenient access to nearby destinations such as Monastir and Mahdia. The railway network offers an affordable and comfortable option for both domestic and international visitors traveling within the country.

The station is centrally located and provides easy access to hotels, the Medina, Port El Kantaoui, and other key attractions through taxis, local buses, and private transportation services. Facilities include ticket offices, waiting areas, nearby shops and cafés, and connections to local public transport, making it a convenient gateway for exploring Sousse and the wider Tunisian coastline.

By Car/Bus (from Rome)

Reaching Rome by car is convenient thanks to its extensive highway connections. The city is well-served by major motorways such as the A1 (Autostrada del Sole), linking it to Milan and Naples.

From northern, southern, or central Italy, driving to Rome offers flexibility and the chance to explore scenic routes along the way.

Be aware of the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones) in the city center and consider using park-and-ride options.
