The OneHealth Conference launches a Call for Abstracts
The call for abstract is open to collect contributions proposal engaged in the Conference debate and dialogue.
Authors are invited to submit their abstract (max 250 words) under one of the conference domains

Abstract Processing
- The abstract will be accepted for the conference after a double-blinded peer review by the Scientific Committee of the International One Health Conference
- The communication of acceptance will be provided by email by July 15th, 2026
- Accepted contributions will present at the 5th International One Health Conference 2026, October 28,-30 2026
- Date, time and modalities of the presentation will be communicated to the authors close to the date.
Also poster contributions will be accepted.
Publication Opportunities
Every year the contributions of the conference will be published on peer-reviewed journal.
After the communication authors of the accepted abstract will be asked to eventually submit a full paper version to be published on the journal.
This year accepted papers for the proceedings will be published on Springer Nature, BMC, One Health Avances
One Health Advances
One Health Advances is a peer-reviewed, open access journal committed to publish high-quality research articles, comments, correspondence and reviews describing the advances in public health. The topics primarily focus on antimicrobial resistance, animal-derived food safety, and animal diseases with a preference for zoonoses. Prof. Jianzhong Shen (China Agricultural University, China) and Prof. Stefan Schwarz (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany) serve as the Editors-in-Chief.
Indications for the full paper submission
- Follow the template
- Abstract should be no more than 150 words max
- Full lenght of the paper need to be from min 5 pages and should not exceed 9 pages included figures and table
- Papers need to be original: similarity rate more than 22% bring to the exclusion of the paper

Special Issue “Vulnerability and Resilience: A One-Health Approach to Environmental and Climate Risks in the Mediterranean”
Interested authors are also invited to submit their contribution to the Special Issue “Vulnerability and Resilience: A One-Health Approach to Environmental and Climate Risks in the Mediterranean” on MDPI.
The Special Issue is connected and dedicated to the conference and only works that not exceed the 20% of already published works will be considered for publishing.

- A 20% discount on the APC for the papers selected from the conference
- Advertise the conference in the homepage of the journal

Domains framework
The conference contributions and agenda will be organized standing the following Domain Framework .
Day 1 – Pollution, Waste & Environmental Health
Day 1 explores pollution, waste, and environmental health through the One Health lens, addressing air, water, and soil contamination, microplastics, and toxic exposures. It highlights circular economy solutions, environmental monitoring technologies, data systems, and community-based approaches to strengthen resilience, sustainability, and public health protection.
Day 2 – Human physical and mental health and welfare
Day 2 explores the impacts of climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation on human physical and mental health. Sessions address chronic diseases, heat stress, environmental inequalities, social determinants of health, and resilience, promoting interdisciplinary and justice-oriented approaches to well-being within the One Health framework.
Day 3 – Biosphere connections and animal health
Day 3 explores the links between biodiversity, ecosystem integrity, and animal health, addressing climate change, habitat degradation, zoonoses, invasive species, and antimicrobial resistance. Sessions promote interdisciplinary approaches to conservation, ecosystem restoration, animal welfare, and resilient food systems within the One Health and Integral Ecology frameworks.
